Norway rats (Brown rats) – Heavy-bodied rats with brown fur and grey undersides. They nest in underground burrows, under buildings, near compost heaps, and along waterways. Adults reach 40cm plus tail length.
Ship rats (Roof rats) – Black or brown with large ears and eyes, excellent climbers often found in ceilings and roof spaces. They grow over 40cm in length and are the most common roof-dwelling pest.
House mice – Small, grey-brown rodents that breed incredibly fast. Females produce litters every three weeks, with babies breeding at just one month old. The most prolific of all rodent pests.
